Work
ExerTrain
Programming Intern
ReGame XR Lab, Northeastern University, Boston, MA
In Summer of 2022, I had the joy of joining a game design internship program at Northeastern University. There, I worked with peers to collaboratively design a Unity VR exercise game for 8-10 year-olds, in which heart rate affects the gameplay. Much of the programming that made what you see here possible was directly contributed by me.
Merge Surge
Programming Intern
MassDiGi, Worcester, MA
I'm lucky enough to have done work on a published game. Merge Surge is a merging/tower defense game for iOS; in it, you equip robots with chips to defeat waves of enemies across 3 levels. I developed aspects of the economy and analytics.
Projects
Tumblin' For Ya
Design and Programming
This was an entry for the 2022 Game Maker's Toolkit game jam, the theme being "Roll of the Dice." This made me think back to a puzzle I solved that involved rolling an imaginary die on a grid; so, I made a game where you roll a virtual die towards a goal under the constraint that a certain number has to be facing up to traverse certain tiles. Only the die model was pre-made; the rest was modeled after a casino table.
Yet Another Rubik's Cube Solver
Design and Programming
I purchased a Rubik's Cube at one point, and had a good time studying how to solve it. Then, I considered how I might replicate the experience in Unity. So, I sat down and did so over the course of a few days. The cube can be fully manipulated and, after scrambling, can detect when it's solved.
Call and Response
Design & Programming
This is a simple game made in two days for a game jam, and later expanded on with additional features. The theme was "One Button" which made me think of a telegraph, so I made a game about translating words into Morse Code.
Yet Another Space Invaders Emulator
Design and Programming
There was a point in October 2021 where I was interested in assembly language. So, I decided to spend a few weeks creating an emulator of Space Invaders from the ground up in C++, using the original assembly code.
Blaseball Rewind
Design and Programming
This project was made for a hackathon themed around Blaseball, the strange yet fascinating baseball simulator. It pulls game data from a database made by fans, which can then be observed through a Pygame GUI and navigated play-by-play with the arrow keys.
In the House of Asterion
Design and Programming
This piece of interactive fiction was made in Twine for a game jam. The puzzles were inspired by classic escape rooms, while the story took influence from a number of stories concerning the Minotaur.
